Starbucks Coffee and A Brazilian

My mom is out here for a week, visiting us. She wanted to see our new place in Brooklyn and ‘she approves’. We all went out on Wednesday night to attend the Golden Trailer Awards nominations party and had a blast. It was great to see lots of old friends there that I hadn’t seen in ages.

While walking from the subway station to the GTA party, a guy zips past us in Segway. Turns out it was my old writing partner, Harris Silver ( http://www.citystreets.org ) who was heading to a totally unrelated party after giving a speach at the Apple Store in Soho. New York is such a amazingly small world at times.

Speaking of segways, did you know that Brazil is not just a country best known for it’s skimpy swim wear, but it’s also the worlds largest exporter of coffee? Which brings me to my rant for the week on coffee and an urban legend I’ve heard that Starbucks burns their coffee. My response to that can be found here: http://www.tomdelmundo.com/blog/starbucks.html
