To all our friends outside of NY, me and the family are fine here in Brooklyn. We lost our internet for about 12hrs on Monday night but we never lost power. No damage to our apartment or building and minor tree damage in our general area.
The same can’t be said for our friends in lower Manhattan who have been without power most of the week. The power outage has stopped all of the subways lines from Brooklyn into Manhattan and have forced us here to take bus service to 57th st. and walk. Needless to say the traffic has been epic. Thankfully, I’ve been allowed to work from home thanks to the internet.
If all goes well, power will be restored in Manhattan by this weekend and with it a resumption of subway service on most lines. Thanks for all the calls and e-mails of concern. Things are sloooowly getting back to normal. If NY can ever be called normal.
