This afternoon I was listening to NPR give tribute and elegize Kurt Vonnegut. Then a news brief came on about Don Imus getting fired and it made me wonder what side Vonnegut would have been. Kurt was all about Free Speech and it’s rather hypocritical that Imus gets fired for calling the Rutger’s Women’s basketball players ‘Nappy-headed ho’s.’ If Eminem or Lil Kim had said that, they’d say, that’s just ‘trash talk’.
Personally, I’d like to think that Imus was getting fired not for what he said, but for just being a pompous ass.
